Hurco Servo Motors

Potomac Electric has manufactured replacement servo motors for Hurco machines for more then 10 years. Over the last few years Potomac Electric has developed a new servo motor line featuring compact size, high quality encoders and a silver commutator that replaces the old Hurco servo motors. This new generation of servomotors manufactured by Potomac Electric provides state of the art design features that ensure the customer will benefit in upgrading from their old servomotor to a new replacement servomotor manufactured in the USA by Potomac Electric.

At Potomac Electric we support many different motors that may have been used in the production of Hurco machines. The two largest manufacturers that we support in this area are Baldor and Electrocraft. Potomac Electric has an experienced staff who have handled servo motors of this type and can either ship you out a replacement or repair your servo motor quickly to get your machine up and running again.

In the 1990s the majority of machine manufacturers shifted from brushed servo motors to brushless type servo motors, as cost of the technology had come down. The higher speeds and absence of brush maintenance in the brushless type servo motors offered favorable advantages. As DC brush type servo motors became less attractive machine builders slowly phased out this technology. As a result the price and delivery of the servo motors increased dramatically. Potomac Electric set a goal to support the machine tool industry maintenance costs low with a high quality products at low cost.
